Our Story

Jewellery with a sense of place.

My father was born in Mauritius, and I’ve been travelling to the island for as long as I can remember. Family holidays were spent on its beaches, exploring colourful markets and falling in love with the extraordinary colours of the Indian Ocean.

It’s the colours I notice first — turquoise lagoons, deep ocean blues and the beautiful light that makes every shade feel more vivid. Those colours became the beginning of Tamarin Bay.

A love of jewellery

My interest in jewellery began long before Tamarin Bay. While working in finance in London, I studied jewellery making in the evenings. Later, during ten years living in Hong Kong, I loved exploring gemstone and bead markets, discovering new stones, colours and ideas.

Crafted with care

A sourcing trip to India led me to inspiring Fairtrade workshops and skilled artisan makers. Today, some Tamarin Bay pieces are handcrafted by these artisans in India, while others are handmade in my Surrey studio.

Colour comes first

Every design begins with colour. I don’t start with a sketch — I start with gemstones, beads and shades that remind me of somewhere I’ve loved, moving and combining them until the palette tells the story.

Designed to take you somewhere

I believe jewellery has the power to transport you — through colour, texture and the memories it evokes.

Tamarin Bay is for women drawn to colour, craftsmanship and pieces that feel discovered rather than mass-produced.

Every piece begins with a memory of a place I love. My hope is that it becomes part of yours.
